Starting with trainspotting in the 1940s and 1950s Jon Marsh moved to railway still photography in 1962 and cine in 1964.

This third in our "Chasing Steam" series covers the steam scene after the end of BR steam. Using stills and cine film it documents Jon Marsh’s train chasing days.

Steam was dead in Great Britain.. but was it really? No! There was still plenty of steam if you looked and we include the Isle of Man, industrial systems, early preserved lines, visits to Europe and the "Return to Steam" on BR in 1971 with ex-GWR No.6000 "King George V".
