Join us for an unforgettable journey from the driver's cab of IC2370 BODENSEE on her journey from Konstanz through the Schwarzwald. We start with a look around the lovely holiday area along the lake and a chance to watch the steamers arrive from Switzerland, and trains on their way to Switzerland. The locomotive on our train is a modern class 101, the mainstay of the DB Fernverkher fleet. The run to Singen is along the busy lakeside line through Radolfzell, while Singen itself is a busy commercial centre with a thriving rail terminal and rail linked lineside industry. We have a quick look arround and after an ICT on a run from Zurich to Stuttgart has cleared the line we head into the foothills of the Schwarzwald and begin to climb! On the way to Villingen we pass through Immendingen and Donaueschingen the town at the source of the mighty Danube.

Continues our unforgettable journey from the driver's cab of IC2370 BODENSEE on her journey from Konstanz through the Schwarzwald. TTR59 starts at Villingen, and is the longest section including the tunnel complex at Triberg that drops us over 400m in 10km between St Georgen and Hornberg. This section also has the most dramatic scenery. The slowest part of the journey is followed by the fastest as we turn west at Hausach and head along the Kinzig valley before arrival at Offenburg. After arrival we have time to take a look at freight activity in the area. We travel the few miles to Kehl the Rhine side port that serves both this quarter of Baden Wertemburg but also the major French city of Strasbourg.
